april showers

I always forget I have this blog!

So I am being given the opportunity to shoot my first wedding on saturday!! I am super excited and totally nervous, too. My camera is good, but it's just a point and shoot & having an SLR would be much sweeter for starting my photography career (ha, i wish). I took the sunny afternoon to try different settings on my camera and fell in love with a tree outside my window. it's the perfect vision of spring and I'm glad I got pictures of it before the rain this week dropped all the petals.

I'm getting a hefty tax return soon and with it i plan on using it for a down payment for a car. With Austin opening this deli, many trips to Front Royal are in my future and I need a car with good gas mileage. I've decided on a honda civic. I want one no older than 2006, navy blue, black, or silver, & a sunroof. Those are my only requirements and I think they're pretty reasonable. I'm excited because it's my first big purchase but I'll have to be a big girl and make payments every month (gross).
With the money left over, I hope to fiiiiinally get my Earth to Bella tattoo!
okay, it's photo time.

my top 5 that i composed with austin last night haha
i think i have a thing for soccer players, huh?

vday

what does valentine's day mean to me?

money.

As a server, Vday is one of the most lucrative days of the year. Because the money is so good, I haven't gotten to spend a vday w/ the boyfriend for quite some time, but that doesn't stop us from doing it another night. On Vday, there are more couples sitting on the same side of the booth, taking their time eating, but luckily drinking a lot and spending lots of money- so i can deal with their mushy ways for a few hours. However, all that romantic gushy stuff is not my cup of tea.

teddy bears? no. chocolate? no. I don't really like when people get engaged on valentine's day either. I don't think of it as special- it's kind of an easy way out of making up a creative way to ask someone to spend the rest of their life with you.

hm, totally forgot about my blog.
--shows you how interesting my life is.

Today, I mailed my grad school app to Marymount. I applied to the Forensic Psychology program and I am super excited, yet super nervous.
- What if I don't get in!?

Stuck in shitty weather really really makes me want to be somewhere warm. I miss tank tops, bathing suits, and wearing as little clothing as possible.
Is it summer yet?

i need to do more in my life.

campers

if you love the outdoors, this is one of your favorite words.
if you're a server, this is your least favorite word.

As a server, I hate campers. Last night was a relatively slow night and this nice, hungover, lesbian couple got sat at one of my tables. They were super nice and we made small talk and all was great. That is until two hours after they finished eating and were still sitting there. Okay, so my first question is "What the fuck are you talking to them about?" When I go out to eat with my boyfriend, we order our food and we may linger for a few minutes to let the food settle, and then we head home! But really? two hours? Then, the worst thing possible occurs. Instead of getting up and leaving like they should have, they decided to open a new check and order dessert and mojitos... not so hungover anymore are you? It's probably from sitting in the same spot for three hours. Anyway, so they paid for that portion too and instead of leaving, sat there for another hour.

In total, they sat there for about 4.5 hours, without even going to the bathroom. w.t.f. I think we should start charging for ever half hour you sit at the table after paying.

and that is my rant for the day.

relief

So I am done with undergrad and done taking the GREs in which i didn't do that hot, but I'm putting it in the past and hoping that my analytical writing scores are going to get me into grad school haha.
My final GPA of the semester was 3.6, 2 As, 1 B+ and a C in Computer Ethics (which is better than the F last semester from lack of attendance.....) but it's only work 1 credit so i don't care.

I think I am most excited about being done because I haven't been able to read a book for pleasure in FOREVER. I got three awesome ones for christmas I can't wait to start reading.

Tomorrow is New Years Eve and I'll be working as usual, but working New Years isn't all that bad. It's usually very fun, the managers are way more relaxed and I'd rather be making $200+ than spending that much. I've never liked New Years all that much anyway- all the hype of HAVING to have a good time always lets me down somehow. However, it would be nice to have somewhere to wear my new amazing shoes to.

I also put up my new calendar early this year. It's beach themed and puts me in a happy mood.

I like not having something to do every second.
I don't have any assignments due or studying to do.

I have free time. It's a weird feeling.
It also brings me to my New Years Resolutions, which I hope don't last only a week.

1. I want to get into a workout routine at the gym & possibly get a physical trainer.
I want to go to the gym ATLEAST once a week. It's a struggle for me, I'm lazy and I get bored super fast even with my awesome work out mixes
2. I NEED to work more than once a week. Working only on Fridays just wont cut it for me anymore. I need money saved and the only way I can do that is working more and stop being so lazy. I also want a new SLR so I need to save up for that.
3. Go out on more photo shoots (hopefully with a new SLR) and find inspiration in anything.

okay so maybe I have a reoccurring theme for the new year: STOP BEING SO LAZY.
